Hi all,
We’re seeing a “This action is not allowed” error when trying to view the WYSIWYG File Preview in the editor. This happens when working within a task, even though the full file is assigned. The file format is docx and the preview works for managers on the project.
Is there a known limitation with file preview in task mode, or is there a permission we’re missing?
Thanks for reporting this! I’ve tried to reproduce the same setup on my side (including working within a task with a .docx file), and the WYSIWYG preview works as expected both on the owner’s and translator’s side, so this doesn’t look like a general limitation of task mode.
Could you please share the project name and the specific task where this is happening? That will help to take a closer look at your setup.

It’s like this with all of our projects/tasks, though, so I think we’re missing some setting when we’re creating them.

The reason for The action is not alowed is the following:
when there’s Task-based control option enabled in the project settings + the user that is assigned to the task has Member access (no role basically), it means that user has access only to the content of the task (the strings inside). In case you open the task and try to switch to File itself and see the preview, the system will block it since user doesn’t have the access to the file itself
Here we would recommend checking the preview in the middle section on the bottom of the page or in the side-by-side view
Or in your case change yourself a role in the project (as far as I understand, you did that already)
