How do I find the “approve” individual strings to approve translation strings individually (the checkmark, cannot find it!)

It’s a stand-alone icon Approve
By the way, you can enable auto-approve of your translations in the Editor settings (top right corner, wheel button).
You need to be a proofreader to be able to approve strings. As a Translator, you can only vote on translations.
