How to get Auto-Translation without Approval

Testing Crowdin for the first time and have integrated with GitLab to translate a single .html from English to German, French and Spanish.

  • The dashboard shows 100% for these languages
  • Files written back to l10n_main are all in English
  • Clicking into the language just allows manual approvals 4x 37 times
  • No options to auto-approve

I’ve tried pressing Auto-Translate, but everything just shows: 100% 100% 0 words. If I click the file in any language it just shows up in English.

Why won’t the sytstem just do the translation and auto-approve everything as best effort?

Hi @brownjam

This behavior usually happens if the export settings of your project are configured to export only approved strings, meaning the translated text won’t be written back to your GitLab repository until it’s approved. Crowdin doesn’t have an automated “auto-approve” setting, but you can easily mass-approve all of your strings in just one click:

If you have already verified your export settings and the translations are still not exporting as expected, please share a link to your project with our team at support@crowdin.com so we can take a closer look for you.

Thank you very much for reply.

How could I switch this off please? I don’t want any approvals at all.

Hi! Please go to the project settings → Export → disable Export only approved (if that one is enabled). At the moment, I don’t see any files being uploaded to the project

Deleting and re-creating the project, followed by “Sync Translations to CrowdIn” then either “Sync Branch” or “Sync Now” seems to have resolved it.

Thank you for much Iliana and Ira, I got this working and the translation is excellent.
