Feature Request: copy Emoji to the translation when clicked

In most cases Emojis from the source should appear in the translation [except for certain cases in RTL where arrows (:arrow_backward: :arrow_left:) and pointing fingers (:point_left: :leftwards_hand:) should be reversed].
The current process is to copy the Emojis to the translation manually, it’s inconvenient.

Thanks :slight_smile: (Sorry about the tag, I couldn’t find an appropriate one)

Hi @Yaron !

You may use Copy Source option in the Editor and then type the translation:

Best regards!

But I’ve already translated the text, the only thing missing is the emoji at the end, using this button will reset my changes.

Just like any other placeholder.

Hi @Yaron,

Indeed, the Copy Source button will replace the current translation. Thus, it is recommended to use it when you translate a string from scratch. It will be helpful when you have some tags or emojis in the source and you need to keep them correctly in the translation.

If you have already translated a string, then the only option is to copy the emojis manually.

Why not treating them same way as placeholders?

@Yaron,

I have created an improvement task to change the behavior of emojis so that they would be treated as placeholders. I cannot promise it will be implemented in the near future but we will let you know if there are any updates.
