In the Xcode project I use Portuguese (pt
) and Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR
). When I use XLIFF, the language identifier in the document’s content is pt
. When I use the new String Catalog (.xcstrings) format however, the resulting file uses pt-PT
internally, which Xcode treats as a distinct localisation.
I have checked the language mapping settings in Crowdin. Changing both locale
(which defaults to pt-PT
) and osx_locale
(which defaults to pt
) for Portuguese to pt
has no effect on the exported String Catalog file.

I am using other languages too, but only Portuguese seems to have a different behaviour.
