Cannot change branch from 'main' to 'dev'

I am unable to change the default, only, branch from main to dev. I even went so far as to delete all integrations and start over. Nothing seems to work. I was able to remake integration as ‘main’, but I still want to change it.

Project is duplicity, an open source project on GitLab.

You can change the name of the main branch, but you can’t change the default branch
