[Bug] Error when searching available languages

Priority: Low

Description:

I sometimes do a search with my phone for the available languages.

If using keyboard auto complete for the language name, if the suggestion is accepted, an blank space is added after the word.

While this is a normal feature to continue writing, since the search does not trim spaces, no results are shown unless that blank space is removed.

This is a minor issue but it’s an actual usability improvement when using Crowdin with a mobile device.

Should more information is needed, please ask.

Hi @tyrek,

I want to clarify that the space is being added by your mobile device’s keyboard software rather than by the Crowdin platform itself. Because this behavior is controlled by your keyboard settings, we are unfortunately unable to modify how those auto-completed suggestions are inserted into the search field. As a workaround, please try typing out the full name of the language manually to avoid the automatic space insertion.

Hi @Iliana. I already know this, I know the insertion is not done by Crowdin.

Nevertheless, how the data is treated when doing the search is.

I just meant that, during that process, when reading the data, the value was trimmed to avoid this issue.

I know this issue is not important at all, rather a minor usability improvement, but I thought it should be reported.

Thank you so much.

Hi @tyrek,

I completely understand your point. And I have already reported this to our development team so they can look into it.

We’ll update you when we have more information on the matter
