Hey there!
I hope you’re doing great.
We’re translating our app on both Android and iOS and the strings are basically the same. The Unify Placeholders feature has been a tremendous help, allowing us to avoid translating the same string twice. However, we’ve encountered a minor issue with the ampersand (&) character.
For instance, we have a string that reads “Privacy & Security.”
On iOS, there’s no need to escape the ampersand character. However, on Android, we do need to escape it. As a result, Crowdin displays the string as “Privacy & Security”.
Is this possible to somehow avoid this? This way we’d have a duplicate and Crowdin would hide it. Secondly, this can sometimes confuse our translators, leading them to include the ampersand in their translation, even when it’s not correct in the target language.
I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on this matter!
Thanks!
Kuba
