when i go into sources > strings, the tab “add string” is greyed out, can someone help me?
Not all source files allows you to add stings into them from Crowdin. Some allow only editing existing and not adding new one.
If you don’t have files at all in the project you also wouldn’t be able to add strings, because of nowhere to add.

Upload a file firstly, without a file there can’t be stings
