Is there a way I can translate a wiki page using the WYSISYG mode? What source file do I need, what steps should I follow?
Hi there!
Crowdin supports the MediaWiki file format (.wiki
, .wikitext
, .mediawiki
). You can upload these files directly to your Crowdin project and translate them inline in the Editor. Crowdin also offers WYSIWYG preview functionality for MediaWiki formats, which makes translation more intuitive and user-friendly.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Export the page from your MediaWiki platform as a
.wiki
,.mediawiki
, or.wikitext
file. - Upload the file to your Crowdin project.
- Within the Crowdin Editor, use the WYSIWYG preview mode to translate with live visual context.
- Optionally, configure custom segmentation rules in your Parser Configuration if needed to optimize how text segments are treated.
